[Delmar NY, Feb 2024] – A basic shipment guarantee is generally a commitment from the carrier to prioritize your shipment once in their system, monitored and often “cutting the line” to make their committed transit time. The guarantee is defined as Transit days from date of pick up. Therefore a 2-day transit shipment, picked up on Monday, guarantees it will be delivered by end of business day Wednesday. Should the carrier miss Monday (for whatever reason) and picks up Tuesday, then the guaranteed delivery resets to end of day Thursday.

A Guarantee is not 100% Although the carriers will prioritize your shipment, if your shipment is late, the carriers only refund the extra money you paid for the guarantee (We file for refunds on your behalf). Also very important to understand the carriers guarantee apply to basic, business dock to dock shipping with no added services. Of course, we can add services like liftgate, residential, appointment, notify and Hazmat and the shipment is still prioritized, but the refund clause is no longer valid. So, if they couldn’t find a liftgate and delivers a day late, there is no refund.
- How to get your Guarantee Its simple, either book your shipment as Guaranteed or request from our team. We provide you with a specific BOL that has electronically notified the carrier in advance. You must use our BOL or risk that your shipment defaults to estimated transit. If that happens, neither we or the carrier can honor the guarantee.

- Without a Guarantee All LTL shipment transit times are by default “Estimated” and carry no guarantee. If the LTL carrier fails to meet a deadline, or delivers your shipment horribly late, there is nothing any of us can do other than request an apology. A broker cannot simply “short pay” or force the carrier to take money off. As unfair as this may seem, especially in the wake of truly awful service, the law requires we pay the trucker in full if the goods are delivered.
